Responsibilities
SWIFT Application Support
Monitor, maintain, and support SWIFT Alliance Access (SAA), Alliance Gateway (SAG), Alliance Lite2, Alliance Integrator, and related systems
Troubleshoot SWIFT FIN, MX, ISO 20022 messages, connectivity, and integration issues
Perform daily health checks, start-of-day, end-of-day, and batch monitoring
Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)
Define and track SLIs/SLOs/SLAs for payment applications
Automate monitoring, alerting, and remediation using SRE best practices
Implement observability (logs, metrics, tracing) for proactive incident prevention
Drive capacity planning, performance tuning, and scalability improvements
Incident, Problem Change Management
Provide L2/L3 production support with ownership of incidents through resolution
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes
Participate in change/release management for SWIFT application upgrades, patches, and integrations
Support and configure IBM MQ, Kafka, or other messaging middleware for payment message routing
Work with API gateways, ESBs, and integration frameworks to ensure reliable message delivery
Optimize middleware performance and troubleshoot latency or delivery failures
Work with Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL databases underpinning SWIFT/payment applications
Perform SQL queries, performance tuning, and database monitoring
Partner with DBAs to optimize schema design, indexing, and backups for high availability
Partner with operations, treasury, compliance, and technology teams to resolve critical issues
Coordinate with vendors and SWIFT service providers for escalations and upgrades
Ensure adherence to SWIFT CSP (Customer Security Programme) and internal security policies
Support audit, compliance, and regulatory reporting
Maintain controls aligned with ITIL and SRE operational excellence
Qualification
Required
Strong experience with SWIFT Alliance suite (SAA, SAG, Lite2, Integrator, AMH)
Knowledge of SWIFT FIN, MX, ISO 20022 standards and payment systems (RTGS, SEPA, FEDWIRE, CHIPS)
Middleware: IBM MQ, Kafka, or equivalent
Databases: Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, PostgreSQL — SQL scripting performance tuning
SRE Skills: Monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK), automation (Python, Shell, Ansible), capacity planning, SLIs/SLOs
Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) for payment/SWIFT workloads
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and incident management skills
Global Payments knowledge
SWIFT Messaging expertise
Strong understanding of regulatory compliance in payments space
Good understanding of Networking, Firewalls, Storage, Oracle DB, MQ, Python or any other scripting language
