HR Generalist

Responsibilities
Coordinate and conduct recruitment activities including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and selecting candidates
Manage the onboarding process for new hires, including orientation and paperwork
Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns
Mediate and resolve conflicts between employees or between employees and management
Promote a positive work environment and assist in maintaining employee morale
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations
Update and enforce HR policies and procedures, ensuring they are in alignment with legal requirements
Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programs
Assist with organizing workshops, seminars, and other training activities
Support performance appraisal processes and provide guidance on performance management
Assist with setting performance goals and development plans
Administer employee benefits programs and handle related inquiries
Assist with salary administration, including market research and compensation analysis
Maintain accurate employee records and manage HR databases
Prepare HR reports and metrics for management review
Handle employee leave requests and ensure proper documentation
Support health and safety initiatives and ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations
Assist with the management of workplace accidents and incidents
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience in Human Resources, employee relations, and compliance
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to mediate conflicts
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple HR functions
Strong analytical skills for performance management and compensation analysis
Effective problem-solving skills
Attention to detail for maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance
Proficiency with HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), and other HR-related software
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
Initiative in identifying areas for improvement
In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations
Understanding of HR best practices and policies
Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Preferred
Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), or other relevant HR certifications are a plus
Familiarity with ADP, UKG, and JIRA is beneficial
Bilingual and experience in multi-state HR operations is advantageous
