Bioinformatician-Computational Biologist (TEMP)

Responsibilities
Analyzing and comparing amplicon sequences that define the human microbiome
Preparing figures and text for publication and presentations
Adapting and implementing bioinformatic workflows for sequence analysis
Reading relevant literature, including conceptual state-of-the-art methods
Working with team members to advise on analysis strategies
Qualification
Required
Bachelors degree in mathematics/statistics, computational biology or equivalent
Familiarity with DNA sequence analysis, especially rRNA gene sequences
Familiarity with microbial diversity metrics
Proficiency in R for data analysis and visualization
A minimum of 4 years of research experience performing bioinformatics research
Adept at command line interfaces
Preferred
Co-authorship on publications related to the gut microbiome
Expertise with mothur and R
