Business Development Manager – Energy, Analytics & AI
EcoMetricx is a company that delivers energy orchestration services and AI-focused products to help utilities and energy program operators manage complex energy systems. They are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive commercial adoption of their platform and AI-enabled products by developing new business with utilities and energy retailers.
Data Infrastructure and Analytics
Responsibilities
Develop and execute business development strategies for EcoMetricx’s orchestration platform and AI-driven products
Own the end-to-end sales process, including prospecting, discovery, solution design, proposal development, and contract negotiation
Articulate the value of AI-enabled forecasting, optimization, and decision-support tools in regulated and competitive energy markets
Identify opportunities across demand response, behavioral programs, grid analytics, portfolio optimization, hedge analytics, and decarbonization
Collaborate with technical teams to scope AI- and analytics-driven solutions aligned with client objectives and constraints
Support RFP responses, pilots, and client presentations with clear differentiation around data, analytics, and AI capabilities
Build long-term relationships with utility executives, program managers, and other senior stakeholders
Maintain pipeline visibility, revenue forecasting, and market feedback to inform product and go-to-market strategy
Qualification
Required
Minimum 3 years of experience in business development, sales, partnerships, or a related role
Experience selling to or working with utilities, CCAs, aggregators, or energy program operators
Demonstrated familiarity with recent developments in AI, including applied machine learning, AI-enabled analytics, or decision-support systems
Ability to communicate complex AI, analytics, and software concepts to non-technical audiences
Experience managing consultative, multi-stakeholder sales cycles
Based in the United States and authorized to work without sponsorship
Preferred
Background in energy systems, demand response, distributed energy resources, or grid operations
Experience commercializing AI-driven or data-intensive products
Familiarity with regulatory, compliance, or measurement and verification environments
Experience responding to utility or public-sector RFPs
Comfort operating in early-stage or growth-oriented environments
