Responsibilities

Manage people, projects, and client relationships
Perform technical design for hydroelectric, fisheries, and water resources projects
Manage project teams that include junior and senior-level staff, drafters, and project coordinators
Coordinate with hydrology/hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and geotechnical engineers
Work effectively with a multidisciplinary team while applying engineering skills from analysis and design through to construction
Establish long-lasting relationships with clients to assist them in solving complex engineering work
Mentor junior-level staff
Manage multiple projects concurrently

Required

A licensed Professional Engineer
BS in Civil Engineering
Minimum of 10 years' experience in structural engineering
Knowledge of standards and codes applicable to the structural engineering discipline
Experience with analysis and design of concrete and steel structures in and around water
Coordinating with hydrology/hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and geotechnical engineers
Experience with structural modeling software (MathCAD, RISA-3D, SAP2000, AutoCAD, Revit)
Experience working in the field with clients and contractors during planning and construction of projects
Excellent problem-solving skills
Oral and written communication skills to manage projects and clients
Experience managing project teams that include junior and senior-level staff, drafters, and project coordinators
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
Passion for mentoring junior-level staff
Ability to establish long-lasting relationships with clients to assist them in solving complex engineering work
Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team while applying engineering skills from analysis and design through to construction
Must possess permanent authorization to work in the United States
Able to acquire authorization to work in Canada
Must be willing to travel
Possess a valid driver's license

Preferred

Experience with hydroelectric design projects
Experience with fisheries related or water resource projects
Specialty experience within the structural engineering discipline, such as seismic design or finite element modeling
Familiarity with regulatory and permitting processes
