Project Engineer (Scranton / Wilkes Barre)
GHD is a global professional services company focused on engineering, architecture, and construction expertise. They are seeking a Project Engineer to support their Northeast Engineering Design Organization, responsible for engineering evaluation, design, permitting, and construction administration of water and environmental projects.
Responsibilities
Deliver required outcomes by coordinating activities of subcontractors and suppliers and acting as a primary point of contact for them while working within an established contract management plan
Carry out inspections under the supervision of senior colleagues to evaluate the quality of engineering works and/or the integrity of existing installations or structures, and make recommendations to senior colleagues on the remedial works needed to ensure conformance with specifications and regulatory requirements
Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships
Monitor and oversee the delivery of works to ensure that construction, maintenance, or improvement works are delivered in accordance with quality, cost, and time requirements
Create engineering drawings to support the communication, evaluation, and implementation of engineering solutions
Contribute to the design of engineering solutions; design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions
Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media
Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals
Support technical troubleshooting efforts, aiding in the quick and accurate identification, analysis, and resolution of technical issues with equipment and experiments
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Systems Engineering or related field of study
Minimum 2 years of experience working on municipal infrastructure projects (i.e. water, wastewater, stormwater, etc.)
Able and willing to travel to client job sites as needed (primarily local with the occasional overnight)
Preferred
Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification with a desire to obtain a Professional Engineering (PE) license
Previous consulting experience strongly desired
