Responsibilities
Select one principal investigator as mentor and will then be assigned a complimentary clinical or basic science mentor as part of our team-based mentoring system
Complete basic course work in statistics, responsible conduct in research, and research methodology depending upon previous education
Conduct ongoing research in the principal investigator’s laboratory culminating in submission of a career development award (K award or equivalent) by the end of two years
Qualification
Required
MD, MD/PhD, PhD or equivalent
Relevant basic science training and a desire to learn how to apply basic science principles to translational cardiovascular research, or clinical and/or health services research training related to cardiovascular disease and a desire to gain additional expertise in research methodology
U.S. citizenship or permanent residency
PhD candidates must be within three years of receiving their degree
MD candidates must be within one year of completing their clinical training
