Structural Engineer in Training
Cushing Terrell is a multidisciplinary design firm with 17 offices and more than 500 team members who bring together their expertise to deliver holistic built environments. The Structural Engineer-in-Training (EIT) will work alongside experienced engineers, gaining hands-on experience in analysis, design, and preparation of construction documents, while building skills needed for professional licensure.

Responsibilities
Perform research into local jurisdictional requirements
Provide and implement basic code requirements
Perform basic structural engineering analysis and develop design calculations
Work with a Senior Engineer to develop Construction Documents (Plans and Specifications)
Work with and direct BIM staff in development of construction documents
Perform Engineering Studies and Prepare Reports
Prepare construction cost estimates and compare with industry benchmarks
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from ABET accredited four-year University
2+ years job related experience on projects within the United States
Basic knowledge of Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook
Ability to solve problems using basic structural engineering principles
High level of collaboration and communication
Ability to effectively manage time
Preferred
Ideally have passed the FE or have EIT certification, or able to complete within 6 months of hire
