Innovation and Engineering Technician

Responsibilities

Will focus on solution creation through detailed design of mechanical hardware and components with consideration of performance, cost, manufacturability, and reliability. This includes completing detailed 3D models/drawings and ensuring requirements for functional performance are adequately captured
Develops new processes, methods, and ways of working while thoroughly documenting design inputs and outputs. This will include general design activities such as requirements management, materials and component selection
Assists and/or directs vendors to create prototypes, reviewing and ensuring adequacy of vendor qualification activities
Actively participates in multidisciplinary project teams through all phases of product development to ensure successful execution of innovative and best-in-class designs

Required

2+ years of practical experience in an R&D environment, laboratory engineering or equivalent
Skills in Research & Analysis, Technical Acumen, Troubleshooting, Product installation, Equipment Set Up, Digital Literacy, Quality Management Systems (QMS), Administrative Support, Technical Writing, Data Analysis & Interpretation, Training Delivery, Process Improvements, Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
High school diploma, required
Ability to successfully perform the minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation
Technical knowledge in ambiguous situations and ability to work independently
Ability to choose materials best suited for applications based on their properties and expected behavior
Technical writing ability for engineering reports or working with operations towards manufacturing procedures
