Social Media Lead (Short-Form Content & Live Shopping)
Plug is a direct-to-consumer technology company specializing in refurbished electronics. They are seeking an energetic Social Media Lead who will create engaging social content and produce live events to promote their mission of reducing e-waste and making reliable technology accessible to all.

Responsibilities
Conceptualize, script, shoot, and edit short-form videos (e.g., TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts) showcasing Plug’s product offerings, promotions, and eco-friendly mission
Collaborate closely with the marketing and creative teams to maintain a consistent brand voice, style, and messaging across all short-form content
Continuously monitor trends and platform updates to ensure content remains fresh, engaging, and in line with best practices
Plan, organize, and host live shopping events on social platforms to showcase new or featured products, demonstrating features and benefits to drive immediate sales
Work cross-functionally with product, sales, and customer support teams to ensure inventory alignment and smooth execution during live events
Track performance metrics for each live stream (e.g., attendance, engagement, conversions) and leverage insights to optimize future events
Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy that increases brand visibility, engagement, and conversions across multiple platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.)
Oversee daily posting, community engagement, and content scheduling—ensuring content is timely, on-brand, and effectively driving key objectives
Monitor and analyze social media analytics to optimize campaigns, predict trends, and inform broader marketing strategies
Engage with users across platforms, responding to questions, comments, and customer service inquiries in a timely, empathetic, and solutions-focused manner
Collaborate with the customer support team to maintain brand reputation, address concerns, and build loyalty among Plug’s online community
Identify and collaborate with relevant influencers who align with Plug’s mission and values
Negotiate contracts, manage relationships, and co-create content to expand reach and drive product awareness
Partner with the marketing team to plan and optimize paid social campaigns, ensuring they’re in sync with organic content objectives
Oversee budget allocation, track ROI, and make data-driven recommendations for campaign improvements
Stay current on emerging social media features, platforms, and trends
Proactively suggest new content ideas, platform expansions, and creative strategies to keep Plug ahead of the curve
Set clear KPIs (reach, engagement, conversions, etc.) and report on social media performance regularly
Use data-driven insights to refine content strategies, set future objectives, and influence broader marketing decisions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
2+ years of proven experience in social media management, preferably in a fast-paced, consumer-focused environment
Demonstrated proficiency in short-form video creation; live streaming or webinar hosting experience a plus
Strong knowledge of video editing software and mobile editing tools (e.g., CapCut, Adobe Premiere Rush, InShot)
Proficiency with social media management platforms (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite) and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, native insights)
A keen eye for design, aesthetics, and storytelling
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style across different platforms and audiences
Comfortable on camera, with strong presentation skills for live events and video content
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple projects concurrently
Passion for sustainable practices, technology, and social media
Ability to champion Plug's mission of reducing e-waste through engaging, educational, and inspiring content
