Responsibilities

Support the site manager in maintaining site action tracking
Manage contractor pre-qualification and time on site
Assist with document control for EHS and the site
Regularly check compliance with the site’s legal permits
Support incident management and incident investigation activities
Perform hazard identification and risk assessments
Review, maintain, and actively participate in the Safe Work Permit system
Waste management

Required

Bachelor's Degree - Safety, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science or a related technical degree or equivalent education and experience
1-3 years of experience working in EHS. (i.e. GHS, OSHA, RCRA, SARA 312 & 313, 40 CFR)
Demonstrated knowledge and application of the Responsible Care principles and ISO 14001
Ability to work with minimal level of guidance & supervision and adapt to rapidly changing priorities
First Aid and CPR trained
Ability to independently learn and understand technical, regulatory and external issues regarding Safety, Health and Environment
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships
Effective decision-making abilities
Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of management
Ability to utilize common workplace and database software. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, etc.)
Ability to work at the highest levels of integrity
Ability to travel - 10%

Preferred

CIH, CSP, CHMM, OSHA Certified desirable but not required
