Fundraising and Database Specialist
The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Silicon Valley Chapter is seeking a Fundraising and Database Specialist. This role is responsible for maintaining an accurate donor database, overseeing donor communications, and coordinating fundraising events and volunteer efforts.

Responsibilities
Maintain an accurate, detailed and up-to-date database of donor, community outreach, and politician records (through donor management software). This may include, but is not limited to, reviewing obituaries, updating donor profiles, adding donations, tracking donor communication and cultivation, donor acknowledgement, preparing and logging milestone gifts, inputting all donations into database in a timely manner, compiling comprehensive donor and statistical reports, and populating databases for bulk mailings
Manage the preparation and tracking of donor thank-you gifts, assist with ordering gifts for fundraising initiatives, and support additional donor stewardship activities
Manage, coordinate and oversee event staff, employees and volunteers, in the collection of donations
Manage the organization's recurring giving program, process donations, and donor stewardship activities for low to mid-level donors
Create reports and lists as requested by MMC management, using database information
Oversee mailing list, including the segmentation of donors for the fundraising team and assist in bulk mailings
Suggests data and process improvement ideas to the manager to continuously develop improved procedures and processes
Manage donor database. Maintain accurate program donor documentation, send thank you notes, receipts, and manage contact with donors in the organization software. Utilize software to conduct database audits to evaluate impact and recommend improvements
Provide administrative support and coordination for organizations fundraising events
Work in collaboration with all other departments and programs to understand the greatest needs in order to maintain the organization wishlist. Drives in-kind donor communication and coordinates the acceptance of all in-kind donations for the organization
Communicate with finance regarding donations for revenue reconciliation
Strategically develop, nurture, and expand community partnerships with local groups and schools, as it relates to in-kind needs or cause marking efforts
Serve as the organization’s subject matter expert for the organization's donor database and in-kind donations
Works collaboratively with colleagues throughout the organization in order to model and support effective cross-departmental partnerships, trauma-informed practices, resiliency-building, and commitment to diversity and inclusion
Adheres to all organizations' and programs' policies and procedures
Communicates regularly and provides written program updates to the manager about program activities, outcomes, and community engagement
Attend department and agency-wide meetings as required
Complete other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Associates degree required
Possession of a valid California driver's license and proof of liability insurance on personal auto
Must be insurable at all times at standard rate by MMC insurance carrier
Must successfully pass a drug, background and Tuberculosis test
Deep interest in and commitment to the mission and vision of MMC with a sensitivity to domestic violence
Demonstrated ability to work with sensitivity and without discrimination towards peoples of diverse cultures, races/ethnicities, socio/economic positions, ages, religions, and genders, physical, mental challenges, disabilities, and sexual orientations
Knowledge of general office practices, procedures, and terminology
Demonstrated ability to use current business software applications
Must be flexible, adaptable, a creative thinker and problem solver who is also open to the insight of others
Work well in a team-oriented environment and collaboratively in cross-disciplinary teams and culturally diverse internal/external constituencies
An understanding of data analysis and performance metrics
Ability to prepare timely, proper, clear, and concise comprehensive reports, summaries, presentations, correspondence, and other documentation
Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively, clearly, and concisely both verbally and in writing in English
Ability to receive and utilize constructive feedback regarding performance, presentation and relationships with others
Preferred
One (1) year experience working in donor management software, preferred
Experience working in SalesForce, preferred
Bilingual in Hmong, Spanish, or Punjabi is a plus
