Responsibilities
Conduct research related to the growth of organoids as models for studying targeted therapeutics against gastrointestinal system cancers in humans performed by others in the Warren Lab
Maintain the database for our large tissue bank, which comprises both primary and metastatic liver tumors
Search the electronic medical records of patients who have contributed tumor and non-tumorous tissue to our clinical/translational studies (APEX)
Correlate molecular analyses of patient tumors, organoids, and patient-derived xenografts with clinical outcomes using varying endpoints, applying appropriate statistical analyses
Present data in lab meetings, assist in writing manuscripts, and modify fields within the tissue/tumor database as new molecular analyses are developed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
Minimum of 1 year of related experience
Experience using APEX
Prior knowledge of the components and methods of tissue storage in the Tumor Bank
Preferred
Working skills in analysis and consultation
Working knowledge of research function
Working skills in statistical analysis, systems programming, database design and data security measures
Skills to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing
