Financial Operations Specialist

Responsibilities

Process and fulfill trade finance transactions, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and compliance
Perform account reconciliation, including A/R, following policy and procedures
Execute wire payments and maintain transaction records
Monitor and control auto-renewal reports and manage extensions/expiry dates for Standby Letters of Credit
Track and update customer fee information
Prepare and maintain management reports
Investigate discrepancies and provide recommendations on non‑routine or complex issues
Resolve internal and external customer inquiries professionally and efficiently
Support business processes, quality control, and operational efficiencies
Partner with other operational areas to ensure accurate and timely fulfillment
Provide advice to internal partners based on established procedures
Participate in continuous improvement, testing, and implementation of new processes
Deliver on‑the‑job assistance and peer training when needed

Required

2+ years financial accounting or financial operations experience
Proficiency with Excel, Word, and Macros
Strong attention to detail
University degree or college diploma
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Strong investigative and reconciliation skills
Excellent prioritization and organizational abilities
Strong customer service & relationship management skills
Clear written and verbal communication
Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
Change leadership, coaching, and training skills

Preferred

Bilingual (French & English)
Knowledge of letters of credit or trade finance
