Associate Product Owner - Accounting Squad

The Associate Product Owner will support the Product Manager in delivering the Internal Finance/Accounting strategy and conducting research tasks related to transaction reconciliation and ledger accuracy.

Responsibilities
Support the Product Manager in shaping and delivering the Internal Finance/Accounting strategy across the neobank's operations
Conduct research tasks related to transaction reconciliation, ledger accuracy, and general ledger (GL) integration—including sourcing, analyzing, and structuring financial datasets for feature development
Deep-dive into user stories drafted by the PM: validate requirements, refine acceptance criteria, and ensure clarity for development teams
Maintain the product backlog in Jira, manage sprint tasks, and support cross-functional coordination
Prepare structured documentation, financial process flows, meeting notes, and visual diagrams to support clear communication within the team
Assist developers and the Finance/Accounting teams with operational questions and contribute to continuous documentation updates in Confluence
Perform lightweight data and market research, help PM with fulfilling input research data for deep diving, do competitive research on core banking or accounting systems to improve product decisions and internal efficiency
Collaborate with engineering teams and Financial Controllers to translate business needs into technical tasks
Qualification
Required
1-2 years of experience as an Associate Product Manager/Business Analyst, Product Owner, or Product Coordinator, preferably in fintech, core banking, or internal accounting systems
Solid understanding of basic accounting fundamentals—double-entry bookkeeping, GL structure, and reconciliation processes
Awareness of financial and regulatory compliance for banking/fintech products in Europe (e.g., IFRS, local reporting standards)
Strong analytical and organizational skills—ability to handle multiple research and documentation tasks simultaneously
Proficiency in data representation and understanding financial data models
Experience creating visual artifacts (diagrams, flow charts)
Hands-on experience with bug tracking and requirements management tools like Jira/Confluence
Familiarity with Agile delivery processes, backlog management, and user story documentation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (at least B1)
Product-oriented mindset with attention to detail and a structured approach to problem solving
Preferred
Prior experience in Finance, Regulatory Reporting, or ERP implementation projects
Hands-on use of financial modeling or business intelligence (BI) tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
Basic knowledge of SQL or APIs for inspecting and validating financial data
