Responsibilities
Critical Mechanical Parts Design & Evaluation
Design and integrate SOFC stacks, components, and subsystems into compact, efficient units
Develop packaging solutions to minimize product size while enhancing performance
Create fixtures and mechanical assemblies for process improvement and control
Critical Material Survey & Structural Analysis
Apply expertise in material science to select suitable materials for high-temperature and corrosive environments
Conduct stress, strain, and fatigue analysis to ensure durability of SOFC components
Evaluate thermal expansion compatibility among different materials
Thermal & Fluid Management
Perform heat transfer and thermal distribution analysis across SOFC materials
Characterize gas flow dynamics to optimize fuel and oxidant distribution
Design cooling and insulation systems to maintain stable operating conditions
Prototype Development & Functional Testing
Lead prototype builds of SOFC units
Conduct experimental testing to validate mechanical and thermal performance
Troubleshoot and refine designs based on test data
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
Preferred
Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering
