Power Electronics Engineer, Modeling
Google is seeking a Power Electronics Engineer specializing in Modeling to join their Data Center Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for defining system-level architecture, conducting engineering analysis, and innovating power conversion specifications for data centers.

Responsibilities
Define data center system-level, product architecture, and Research and Development, while helping to develop operations and maintenance procedures for systems/processes
Conduct engineering analysis and research designs and methods of data center equipment and facilities
Ensure designs and installations meet requirements (e.g., predicted cooling, structural, operational concerns, etc.)
Innovate and design data center power conversion specifications and solutions. Analyze performance, cost, reliability, and availability trade-offs
Provide technical leadership and direction while troubleshooting complex system level power delivery issues
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
5 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments
5 years of experience with direct current power distribution design
5 years of experience with power converter design including Alternating Current (AC)/Direct Current (DC), DC/DC, or DC/AC converter design
Experience in Power System Modelling and Power Electronics
Preferred
Master's degree or PhD in Power Electronics, Power Systems or a related field
Experience in power converter design including DC/DC converters, AC/DC rectifiers, UPS, etc
Experience in data center power system design, including microgrids
Design or validation experience with power budgeting/sizing for AI/ML
Understanding of power electronics fundamentals and various power conversion designs for data center power delivery and power converter modeling and simulation
