Construction
Responsibilities
Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures for heating, water, and drainage systems according to plumbing codes
Inspect structures to locate and mark positions for pipes and connections
Provide estimates of time and materials for plumbing projects
Utilize hand tools, power tools, and electronic test equipment for plumbing tasks
Perform tests to locate leaks and other plumbing issues using water or air and reading gauges
Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe fittings
Cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angles for installation
Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and both metal and non-metal pipes
Join pipes using screws, bolts, fittings, and solder
Troubleshoot and perform emergency repairs on plumbing systems
Install and repair plumbing fixtures, including toilets, drains, and water heaters
Maintain plumbing systems by replacing washers, mending burst pipes, and clearing clogged drains
Perform preventative maintenance to eliminate operating problems and improve outcomes
Model and promote excellent customer service for internal and external customers
Work collaboratively with contractors and other tradesmen
Maintain inventories of tools, materials, and equipment, ensuring optimal material consumption
Ensure plumbing systems are safe and running efficiently
Follow all safety protocols and comply with statutory regulations and plumbing codes
Qualification
Required
Valid Journeyman Plumbers License from the State of Kentucky
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 4-6 years of related experience in plumbing
Completion of an apprenticeship or trade school in plumbing
Good working knowledge of plumbing specifications and Kentucky plumbing codes
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Ability to lift, push, and pull objects over 50 lbs. and work in confined spaces
Strong ability to operate under severe temperature conditions for long periods of time
Ability to climb, stoop, balance, crouch, crawl, or/and kneel continually
Must be able to access and navigate all areas of construction sites
Preferred
Associate's degree or Technical Diploma in plumbing with 4 years of experience is preferred
Minimum of 4-6 years of related experience in plumbing, commercial plumbing highly desired
