Akkodis is seeking a Data Eng AWS Developer for a Contract with a client in San Jose, CA. This role focuses on building scalable data solutions and cloud-based pipelines to support analytics and business decisions.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines on AWS (e.g., S3, Glue, EMR, Lambda) to ingest, transform, and deliver high‑quality datasets for analytics and reporting
Develop robust ETL/ELT processes using SQL and Spark, ensuring performance, data quality, and schema/version control across environments
Partner with product, risk, and analytics teams to deliver metrics, dashboards, and ad‑hoc analyses that inform business decisions and fraud/risk mitigation
Automate data workflows and monitoring (e.g., Airflow/Step Functions, CloudWatch) with strong observability, alerting, and SLAs for reliability
Optimize data models and storage formats (e.g., Parquet, partitioning, compression) for cost‑efficient, high‑performance access in BI tools and downstream services
Collaborate with stakeholders to plan and execute end‑to‑end data projects, documenting designs, managing backlog/priorities, and communicating progress to senior leaders

Required

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related technical discipline
6–8 years of professional experience in data engineering, including cloud-based data pipeline development
Strong hands-on experience with AWS data engineering services (e.g., S3, Glue, EMR, Lambda) and advanced SQL/Spark competency for processing large datasets
Proven ability to design and optimize data solutions, build analytics dashboards or reporting frameworks, and work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders to support business decision-making
