Staff Network Engineer

Responsibilities
Design, implement, and optimize LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and SD-WAN infrastructure supporting Gap’s distribution centers across North America
Collaborate with the Infrastructure leadership team, MSPs, and cross-functional engineering teams to plan and deliver resilient, scalable network solutions
Support and enhance cloud networking integrations across hybrid environments
Administer and maintain technologies including Juniper, Mist, Arista, Meraki, Infoblox, and F5 platforms
Contribute to the design and upkeep of firewall, load balancer, and DNS/DHCP services
Apply automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, or similar) to improve operational efficiency and configuration consistency
Occasionally assist with compute, virtualization, and storage infrastructure in support of broader data center initiatives
Drive root-cause analysis and continuous improvement of network performance and reliability
Maintain detailed network documentation, adhering to change management and operational standards
Stay current with emerging technologies to ensure Gap’s network remains agile, secure, and scalable
Qualification
Required
3–6 years of hands-on experience designing and supporting large-scale enterprise networks
Strong technical expertise in LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, SD-WAN, routing, switching, and DNS/DHCP/IPAM
Working knowledge of Juniper, Mist, Arista, Meraki, Infoblox, and F5 technologies
Solid understanding of firewalls, load balancers, and network security principles
Familiarity with cloud networking (Azure, OCI)
Experience with network automation or scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible)
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with a bias for ownership and action
Strong communication and collaboration skills; able to effectively liaise with internal teams and managed service partners
