WABC-TV (ABC7) 7 On Your Side Intern, Summer/Fall 2026

The Walt Disney Company is seeking an intern for WABC-TV's 7 On Your Side unit, which is responsible for producing segments that inform and entertain viewers. The intern will pre-interview viewers, compile documentation, and pitch stories while shadowing a reporter to learn on-camera techniques.

Responsibilities

Will be responsible for pre-interviewing viewers/guests, compiling documentation, and pitching strong stories to the producer
Exercise excellent customer service skills with viewers in need, organize their documents, material and maintain the project relationship
Shadow reporter Nina Pineda on numerous shoots, learning on-camera techniques, and doing sample stand-ups!

Required

Outstanding, highly motivated self-starter who is passionate about helping others, telling good stories, and learning how to put together a television news story
A hard-working professional who is an organized multitasker who strives to competently balance different tasks, and who has outstanding phone skills
Previous experience (academic or internship) in broadcast journalism; television news and production including news script writing
Experience using Microsoft Office, particularly file sharing workflows through OneDrive
Experience with mobile app-based or online editing tools to create social media posts for promoting and sharing 7 On Your Side reports
Experience with AP style writing and converting television scripts to web articles
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
Fully available from June 2026 through January 2027
All candidates must be willing to work 24 hours/week during a Monday through Friday schedule
Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the New York, New York area
Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work in the New York, New York area
