Responsibilities
Support the tax team in providing guidance for firms' participation in internal/external investments and strategic partnerships
Research and interpret tax laws and rulings to resolve a wide variety of tax questions from the firms' various business verticals
Act as SME (subject matter expert) partnering with Investment/Executive Team, advising on tax aspects of private equity transactions
Develop and maintain practice knowledge resources directing impacting tax structuring and advisory
Establish best practices and design strategies and implement processes improvement to maximize efficiencies while adhering to Tax Compliance
Research and interpret tax laws and regulations affecting alternative investments/private equity investments
Collaborate with senior stakeholders with regards modeling tax scenarios and integrate tax structuring solutions
Ensure compliance with U.S. federal, state, and international tax obligations
Provide direct support and regular training to practice group members to enable them to leverage practice knowledge resources, precedents and technology tools
Qualification
Required
10+ years of professional experience combo of Top Tier Law firm and in-house experience required
J.D. degree required
Exposure to U.S. tax law (including international tax) and investment structures
Familiarity with partnership and corporate tax law as well as with formation and investment activity of open and closed-ended funds
