Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day on-site civil construction operations, including earthworks, concrete, utilities, roads, and structural works
Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, labour crews, and equipment to ensure efficient workflow
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, codes, and safety regulations
Enforce site safety policies and conduct regular safety meetings and inspections
Monitor project schedules and productivity; identify and resolve issues that could impact timelines
Coordinate with project managers and engineers to review plans, resolve constructability issues, and implement changes
Inspect work quality and ensure compliance with quality control standards
Order materials, manage deliveries, and maintain inventory as needed
Maintain accurate daily reports, schedules, and site documentation
Liaise with clients, inspectors, and regulatory authorities as required
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 6 years of experience in civil construction, with supervisory or superintendent experience preferred
Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and equipment
Proven leadership and team management skills
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
OSHA certification or equivalent safety training
First Aid/CPR certification
Proficiency in construction scheduling and reporting tools
Strong understanding of local building codes and regulations
Preferred
Degree or certification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
Supervisory or superintendent experience preferred
