Responsibilities
Collaborate with team members on creating future data center architecture and design concepts
Investigate renewable power generation, storage technologies and other carbon free energy (CFE) technologies and find best ways to integrate them into the electrical system architecture
Create and maintain plan of record electrical single line and layouts that will help quick implementation in the field
Develop architecture and products which will form the reference design for Google Data Centers. Implement solutions that lead to fast, cost effective construction and delivery
Drive required cross-functional collaboration with other teams for the adoption of latest architecture into Data center designs
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
10 years of technical leadership experience with industrial power system design, development and testing (including data centers)
Experience in infrastructure design of electrical systems
Experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments
Experience with electric power industry standards, building codes and safety standards including NEC, ANSI, IEC, IEEE, NFPA, UL, UFC and UBC
Preferred
Master's degree in Engineering, Business or other relevant fields
Professional Engineering (PE) license
10 years of experience in High Voltage (HV) and Medium Voltage (MV) infrastructure design and distribution equipment, including switchgear, transformers, protective relaying, UPS, and emergency generation systems
Experience with electrical distribution, energy storage, and electrical generation technologies, including other microgrid resources
Experience with designing High Voltage (HV), Medium Voltage (MV), and Low Voltage (LV) systems
Knowledge of data center electrical systems design and operation across HV-MV-LV power distribution, backup power, energy storage and onsite generation
