Manufacturing Controls Engineer

Eaton’s Aerospace Division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Controls Engineer to join our team. This role is responsible for leading the Beltsville site digitization and product automation strategy, partnering with Eaton’s Advanced Manufacturing group to implement new technologies and improve workflows.

Responsibilities

Implement and support automation systems to improve process efficiency and product quality
Lead and assist with system fabrication, equipment selection, and programming for automated systems
Develop all technical documentation, including recommended spare parts and preventative maintenance schedules for equipment
Ensure automation systems are completed in a timely manner
Analyze electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics, troubleshoot operational issues, and determine material specifications
Engage with vendors and technology suppliers to evaluate and select technology applicable to industrial manufacturing processes
Develop business case, application, and theory of operations and prepare justification for senior management
Adapt new technologies to legacy processes and machinery
Coordinate with business leadership on Industry 4.0 strategy deployment

Required

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Manufacturing or Operations
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future
This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158

Preferred

3 years of experience working with technical, production processes and equipment
Advanced degree in Engineering or another related technical field
Aerospace experience a plus
Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
Experience preparing specifications and standards
Experience with Machine Integration is preferred
Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
Experience with PLC Programming is preferred
Experience with CNC programming is preferred
