Responsibilities
Manage complex payroll activities while partnering closely with cross-functional teams to support associates and the business
Deliver excellent customer service to Staples associates and business partners by applying multi-state payroll knowledge
Handle time and attendance submissions, processing payroll requests for assigned departments, and ensuring timely and accurate pay
Assist field managers with payroll questions and serve as a liaison between business units and Corporate Payroll
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED
3+ years of experience in payroll processing and administration
Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Strong working knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations
Proven ability to manage a large and complex caseload with minimal supervision
Demonstrated attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex payroll issues
Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams
High level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information
Preferred
Experience with ADP, Paychex, or SAP
Advanced Excel skills, including creating and managing complex spreadsheets
Knowledge of international payroll regulations and processes
Previous experience with Oracle HCM or Kronos, with the ability to navigate, troubleshoot, and support system functionality
