Responsibilities
Teach four courses across the mathematics curriculum, ranging from introductory levels to advanced post-Calculus electives
Serve as an advisor to a group of students, supporting their academic, social, and emotional development
Guide students in developing critical thinking skills through symbols, graphical representations, and oral expression
Collaborate cross-departmentally on the development and execution of a dedicated Spring Intensive course
Fulfill an additional “plus one” requirement (e.g., coaching, club leadership, or community service coordination)
Provide extra mathematical support for students during flex and community times
Participate in all required faculty meetings, department collaborations, and professional development activities
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's degree in mathematics or a related field is required
Deep mastery of the full secondary math sequence (Algebra through Calculus)
Familiarity with higher-level concepts such as Statistics, Differential Equations, and Linear Algebra
Proven experience with student-centered teaching models
Fluency in current discipline-specific pedagogy
Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey complex logic clearly
A deep-seated commitment to cultivating a culture of belonging where every student feels seen and valued
Ability to design an inclusive classroom that ensures equitable access to high-level mathematics for a diverse student body
Interpersonal skills necessary to build a supportive community and work cross-functionally with diverse constituency groups
Proficiency in educational technology (Google Suite, Canvas/Google Classroom, graphing software, and virtual meeting platforms)
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and pivot between in-person and virtual instruction if necessary
Preferred
An advanced degree (MA, MS, or PhD) is highly preferred
