Technical Lead, Sustaining Engineering
Neighborly Software is a dynamic and rapidly growing software company dedicated to innovation and excellence. They are seeking a Technical Lead for Sustaining Engineering who will maintain software standards, lead investigations, and enhance communication across teams to ensure platform stability and reliability.
Responsibilities
Maintain software and coding standards for quality, maintainability, and system stability
Partner with various technical teams on performance, reliability, and optimization efforts
Mentor developers on effective troubleshooting/debugging and root-cause analysis
Own escalated production issues (level 3), performing deep technical analysis across services, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and databases
Serve as the primary technical liaison for stakeholders throughout tech and client-ops
Communicate technical findings clearly, ensuring both technical and non-technical audiences understand impact, timelines, and resolution paths
Coordinate incident response activities with information clarity across organization
Foster a culture of resilience, reliability, and proactive problem prevention
Deliver durable solutions and ensure systemic fixes rather than repeated workarounds
Identify recurring issues and advocate for enhancements to reduce support burden
Maintain SLA ownership for SE-managed tickets and ensure timely, high-quality resolutions
Maintain knowledge base of runbooks, common issues, FAQs, and solutions
Monitor SE metrics and insights to drive improvements in process, stability, and experience
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent experience
3 - 5 years of software engineering experience and working with web application tech stacks and languages (C#, JavaScript/TypeScript/React, .NET Framework, SQL)
Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum and ability to communicate technical concepts clearly
Preferred
Understanding of SAAS principles and cloud-based architecture and infrastructure best practices (preference on Azure experience)
