Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and process government invoices, billing statements, and contract-related financial documentation

Maintain accurate and timely accounts receivable records, including revenue recognition and reconciliation activities

Monitor contract compliance to ensure billing aligns with grant, contract, and regulatory requirements

Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations

Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and supporting analyses

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve invoicing or payment discrepancies

Develop and implement improvements to accounting processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency

Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to team members to support departmental growth and knowledge-sharing

Maintain organized financial records in compliance with organizational policies and nonprofit accounting standards

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a closely related discipline

Proven experience within a nonprofit environment, with an understanding of nonprofit financial practices

Strong background in government invoicing, billing, and contract compliance

Demonstrated proficiency in revenue recognition, accounts receivable processes, and related accounting functions

Ability to train, support, and guide team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning

Preferred

Experience with Intacct (Sage Intacct) is highly advantageous, though not required
