Commercial Real Estate Attorney
Project Recruit has partnered with a highly regarded, multi-office regional law firm that serves clients across New York State, as well as nationally and internationally. The firm is seeking to add a talented and driven defense litigation attorney to its team, focusing on structuring and negotiating complex commercial real estate transactions and advising clients on environmental regulations.
Responsibilities
Structure, negotiate, and close complex commercial real estate transactions , including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and development
Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, leases, and related transactional documents
Manage due diligence , including title, survey, environmental reviews, and closing matters
Lead environmental due diligence for real estate, M&A, and project finance transactions
Draft and negotiate environmental provisions in purchase, leasing, and financing agreements
Advise clients on federal and state environmental regulations , permitting, and regulatory compliance
Support remediation strategies, Brownfields redevelopment, and risk mitigation for contaminated sites
Collaborate with developers, lenders, sponsors, consultants, and internal practice groups on complex projects
Qualification
Required
8+ years of experience in commercial real estate and U.S. environmental law
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
Admission to the New York Bar (CT or MA admission a plus)
Strong experience with environmental risk in transactional and development contexts
Familiarity with key environmental statutes and permitting frameworks
Ability to manage complex matters independently and collaborate across teams

Portable book of business is a plus, but not required
