Intern – Scientific Developer, Affinity
Cadence is an industry leader in computational molecular design, and they are seeking a Scientific Developer Intern to work with PhD-level scientists. The role involves developing and improving computational software for small molecule drug discovery using various computational methods.

Responsibilities
Work with PhD-level scientists to develop and improve computational software for small molecule drug discovery
Apply a variety of computational methods—such as free energy calculations, molecular dynamics simulations, and other modeling techniques—to enhance the accuracy and performance of the software
Qualification
Required
Experience with Python programming
Solid understanding of one or more of the following: statistical mechanics, thermodynamics, molecular dynamics, and free-energy perturbation theory
Good communication skills and ability to work as a part of a diverse team
Preferred
Practical experience running free energy calculations (e.g., RBFE or related methods) or conformational sampling in real projects
3+ years of experience developing in modern scientific languages (Python, C++ etc.)
