Associate Director of Sales | Thompson Palm Springs

Thompson Palm Springs is a distinctive lifestyle resort seeking an accomplished Associate Director of Sales to join their Leadership Team. This role plays a critical leadership part in supporting overall sales strategy, revenue optimization, and team development, while managing group sales and strategic accounts.

Responsibilities

Mentor, coach, and train Sales Managers to drive performance, accountability, and professional growth while reinforcing brand standards and sales best practices
Serve as a lead on the property group sales team, actively driving group revenue, supporting conversion efforts, and ensuring alignment with property goals
Manage assigned geographic territories including Northern California, Pacific Northwest, Northeast time zone, and Canada, with direct responsibility for strategic account production, prospecting, and relationship development
Partner closely with Culinary, Banquets and hotel operations teams to ensure group contracts are operationally sound and executed in alignment with contracted obligations and guest expectations
Collaborate with Revenue Management on group forecasting, cut-off date management, pickup analysis, billing, and enforcement of attrition and cancellation terms
Lead systems training and utilization, analyze sales and performance reports, and support weekly revenue reporting and Daily Business Reviews (DBR) alongside the Director of Revenue Management (DORM) and Director of Sales, Marketing & Events (DOSME)
Represent the property at tradeshows, sales calls, and industry events; monitor and manage monthly travel budgets, accruals, and expenses
Drive customer entertainment initiatives, community involvement, and industry networking to strengthen brand presence and generate new business opportunities

Required

Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in hotel sales, events, and/or marketing management with leadership exposure
Demonstrated history of success in sales
Results driven, energetic, and focused
Service oriented style with professional presentations skills
Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, proven track record in high volume concept, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line
Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field
