Responsibilities
Lead and oversee the full billing lifecycle for assigned practice groups or offices, including billing execution, inventory management, and collections support
Serve as a subject matter expert to attorneys and senior leadership on billing processes, client requirements, and revenue-related issues
Partner with global billing and finance teams to implement firmwide policies, best practices, and system enhancements
Provide guidance on complex billing arrangements, rate structures, discounts, write-offs, and alternative fee arrangements
Act as a liaison to local finance leadership or committees, supporting reporting, meetings, and follow-up actions
Monitor billing performance, identify risks or inefficiencies, and proactively recommend process improvements
Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of sensitive financial and client data
Qualification
Required
10+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including 4+ years in law firm or professional services billing
Deep understanding of complex legal billing processes, client guidelines, and revenue management concepts
Experience with enterprise billing systems (Elite 3E or Aderant preferred)
Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence attorneys and senior stakeholders
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required
