Senior Clinical Laboratory Scientist

Responsibilities
This position is responsible for performing the complete scope of tests in the laboratory section to which assigned, under the direction of the laboratory supervisor, the Laboratory Manager and the Director of the Laboratory (Pathologist)
Incumbents in this position shall comply with all applicable laws and rules including the Dignity Health Standards of Conduct and Dignity Health policies and procedures that apply to his/her job responsibilities, seek guidance when in doubt, promptly report any potential or suspected violation of Dignity Health Standards of Conduct, Dignity Health policy or procedure or applicable laws/regulations and when requested, assist Dignity Health personnel in investigating all allegations of violation
When called upon, the incumbent shall assist in risk evaluation and work collaboratively with facility/entity leaders to implement, monitor and mitigate risk corrective plans outlined by the Compliance program
Ensures a professional and responsive atmosphere by greeting patients, visitors, staff, and physicians promptly and courteously
Refers to each individual by name when appropriate
Screens individuals by requesting to see identification or visitor pass
Maintain a valid California License as a Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS)
Willingness to actively participate in continue education, competency tests, and attends inservice training seminars to update knowledge and skills
Demonstrates knowledge and operation of the Laboratory (LIS) and the Hospital (HIS) computer system. This includes validating, recording and reporting tests results via phone, computer entry, and instrument verification protocol in a timely manner
Performs and records instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control including proficiency testing
Recognizes and prioritizes tasks appropriately
Respond to emergencies, adapt to changing situations and cope with stress in a professional manner
Qualification
Required
Bachelors Of Science, upon hire
Clinical Lab Scientist:CA, upon hire
Clinical Microbiology Scientist:CA, upon hire
Maintain a valid California License as a Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS)
Willingness to actively participate in continue education, competency tests, and attends inservice training seminars to update knowledge and skills
Demonstrates knowledge and operation of the Laboratory (LIS) and the Hospital (HIS) computer system
Performs and records instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control including proficiency testing
Recognizes and prioritizes tasks appropriately
