Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Field Service organization, including field technicians, supervisors, and support functions
Ensure safe, compliant, and effective execution of field activities including installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting
Establish clear expectations, performance metrics, and accountability across the field organization
Execute field service strategy aligned with company objectives and aftermarket growth goals
Improve service delivery models, response times, and field utilization
Partner with the AVP of Field Service to support long-term service planning and capacity scaling
Ensure field work adheres to engineering standards, safety requirements, and industry best practices
Support resolution of complex technical issues and customer escalations
Drive continuous improvement based on field feedback, lessons learned, and root cause analysis
Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing field service talent
Support training, certification, and technical competency development for field teams
Build a culture of safety, accountability, and customer focus
Serve as a senior point of contact for customers on field service matters
Partner with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure alignment and smooth execution
Support customer communication related to service scope, schedules, and issue resolution
Support aftermarket revenue growth through effective service execution and collaboration with sales teams
Monitor service costs, productivity, and margins
Support development of scopes of work, estimates, and service planning
Establish and refine field service processes, tools, and reporting
Track KPIs related to safety, quality, delivery, utilization, and customer satisfaction
Provide regular updates and insights to the AVP of Field Service and senior leadership

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical, or related field (or equivalent experience)
8–12+ years of experience in:
Field Service leadership
Industrial, electrical, or engineered equipment environments
Proven experience leading multi-site or geographically dispersed field teams
Strong understanding of field service operations, safety practices, and customer-facing execution
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Willingness to work on-site in Roanoke, VA with occasional travel

Preferred

Experience with power transformers, electrical equipment, or heavy manufacturing
Background in aftermarket services, commissioning, testing, or maintenance
Familiarity with industry standards and field safety requirements
Experience managing budgets, utilization, and service P&L components
Prior experience working in a matrixed organization
