Quality Engineer

Edelbrock Group is seeking a Quality Engineer to support and execute quality assurance activities. This role focuses on ensuring products meet internal standards and regulatory expectations while driving defect prevention and continuous improvement throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain inspection plans for incoming, in-process, and finished goods
Coordinate and perform incoming inspections and in-process quality checks to ensure compliance with specifications and documentation requirements
Monitor quality performance metrics; prepare and distribute monthly quality performance reports
Issue Quality Alerts and establish containment actions in response to non-conformances
Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action activities; train cross-functional teams on effective CAPA execution
Measure and analyze product trials and validation builds; prepare reports for management review
Support internal and external audits, including ISO 9001:2015; act as an internal auditor as required
Perform control plan audits and supplier assessments, both internally and at supplier facilities
Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to drive continuous quality improvement initiatives
Support warranty and supplier quality activities to reduce warranty costs and improve supplier performance
Lead quality-related APQP activities and support new product development efforts
Develop and communicate customer-specific quality requirements using Core Tools (FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, SPC, MSA)

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in a Quality Assurance or Quality Control role within a manufacturing environment
Demonstrated experience leading quality investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
Working knowledge of Core Quality Tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, and ISO 9001:2015
Experience with inspection methods, quality control techniques, and use of precision measuring instruments
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and bills of materials
Working knowledge of statistical analysis and basic design of experiments
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP systems (Oracle or equivalent)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional, high-performance team environments
Hands-on mindset with the ability to work effectively on the manufacturing floor
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Visual acuity and ability to identify slight variations in product quality

Preferred

Preferred experience in metrology, calibration systems, and gage R&R techniques
