Responsibilities
Develop erection-focused estimates for large, complex structural steel projects (1,000 – 30,000 tons)
Work closely with operations and leadership to plan crews, sequencing, and means & methods before pricing
Collaborate in-person with project teams, GCs, and fabricators to ensure accurate, buildable bids
Lead or support a small estimating team (for Estimating Manager level), coaching and standardizing bid strategies
Use Bluebeam, and traditional takeoff methods to produce accurate estimates
Qualification
Required
Strong steel erection estimating background (fabrication-only experience not suitable)
Understanding of field operations, crew build-up, crane planning, and erection sequencing
Comfortable collaborating face-to-face with operations and ownership
Ability to estimate without relying solely on model-based tools
Prior experience in a similar role at an established steel erection contractor
Estimating Manager applicants: leadership experience managing 2–3 estimators, developing processes and bid strategies
