Communications Manager

Companion Animal Alliance is seeking a Communications Manager to ensure clear and consistent messaging across all platforms. The role involves managing branding, social media, e-newsletters, and media relations to enhance public awareness aligned with the organization's mission and values.

Responsibilities

Maintain positive, accurate messaging in alignment with CAA’s mission and values
Ensure consistent branding across all communications and platforms
Work collaboratively with other departments for the following (included but not limited to): graphics, website updates, social media posts/newsletter features, and other external communications
Produce bi-monthly e-newsletters (2x a month) highlighting upcoming events, adoptable pets, data trends, and other appropriate updates/information
Build out a communications plan/calendar that aligns with the quarterly marketing plan
Manage CAA social media accounts across all platforms; monitor post engagements
Work collaboratively with the Events Manager to align all event-related communications
Collect, create, and curate content for CAA social media
Coordinate the design and execute the ordering of all marketing materials authorized by the Development Director
Serve as the designated spokesperson for all media connections
Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with all local media outlets
Coordinate timely and accurate press releases under the direction of the Development Director
Inform the Development Director of all news appearances

Required

High school diploma or GED and 2+ years of experience in related fields OR Bachelor's Degree in communications, marketing, graphic design, or other related fields and 1-2 years of experience
Must be 21+ and have a valid Louisiana driver's license
Strong commitment to the mission and values of Companion Animal Alliance
Must be detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and able to multitask
Experience managing multiple projects at one time
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong relationship-building skills
Critical and strategic thinking skills
Strong organizational and project management skills
Team player, ability to work collaboratively and independently
Ability to comfortably but professionally represent CAA in the media (e.g. news segments)
Familiarity with Meta Business Suite, CRMs, and other communication platforms
