Responsibilities
Consistently deliver exclusive, source-based articles
Build and maintain strong relationships with bankers, lawyers, investors, company executives, and other key players
Become our M&A expert in a specific sector
Cover potential transactions at an early enough stage that they are actionable for our subscribers
Attend and report from conferences, events and meetings to drive fresh, agenda-setting coverage
Work collaboratively with editors and colleagues to shape impactful, forward-looking reporting
Qualification
Required
Proven reporting experience, preferably in financial journalism, though other beats considered if the candidate can demonstrate the ability to break exclusive or complex stories
Interest in business and financial markets
Ability to develop sources and consistently uncover news
Strong writing and analytical skills with the ability to make technical or complex information accessible to a sophisticated readership
Comfortable working in a fast-paced newsroom and managing multiple storylines simultaneously
Preferred
Prior experience covering an industry and developing a strong source base that can generate scoops will be considered an asset
