Global Health Advocacy Incubator is seeking a full-time Legal Intern to provide legal and policy support for the regulation of tobacco and nicotine products. The role involves supporting litigation, legislative, and regulatory activities, including legal research and policy analysis related to FDA regulation and tobacco control laws.

Responsibilities

Provide legal and policy support for the regulation of tobacco and nicotine products by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and state, local, and Tribal authorities
Support litigation, legislative, and regulatory activities, including legal research and policy analysis related to FDA regulation and the defense of state and local tobacco control laws
Work on substantive assignments as if you are a full-time staff attorney
Participate in daily communications and weekly meetings related to CTFK’s advocacy efforts

Required

Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a law school in the United States
Ability to work in the United States
Excellent analytical skills and legal writing and research ability

Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
Knowledge of and proficiency with a variety of computer software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook
Ability to be flexible and modify priorities as needed
Ability to take initiative and work independently with only general supervision
