Responsibilities
Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot a variety of communication systems, including voice, data, SCADA, video, microwave, and satellite equipment, along with the supporting infrastructure
Assist the projects team in implementing system-related projects
Oversee and guide local contractors during the installation and maintenance of telecommunications systems
Provide hands-on support and first-level training to field operations personnel
Serve as the first point of contact between field operations and the IT organization
Maintain and enforce field standards while providing feedback to the communications engineering team
Respond to 24/7 on-call support requests as needed
Travel up to 40% for project and field support
Qualification
Required
Minimum 7 years of experience in installation and maintenance of telecommunications systems, including wireless data systems, SCADA, and LAN cabling
Proficient in using test equipment and software to support telecommunications in the field
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and clients
Physically able to work outdoors and safely operate a motor vehicle
High school diploma or G.E.D. required
Associate's degree in Electronics or 7 years of equivalent experience in the field of Electronics required
Preferred
Network certifications, such as CCNA, are a plus
Experience with phone systems and microwave communications systems is highly desirable
FCC license is preferred
