Responsibilities

On premises cloud management
VM management [vmBackup, vmRestore, vmMount, vmFsck, vmView, etc.]
ZFS snapshot maintenance, backups/data mirroring
Web services administration
State of health monitoring and system management
PXE Boot OS imaging system maintenance
Other daily systems administration activities (smbldap-passwd, addUserAcct, addUserDir, addGroup, modGroup,lsusers, lsgroups, ...)
Reposiroty mirroring to off net environments
KMS server activation and maintenance
Linux and Windows Desktop Support
End point auto-configuration and automation
Network maintenance
Clonezilla imaging
Equipment management
Offending technology mitigation within equipment
GitLab usage and team collaboration

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. A higher-level degree (MS, PhD) in relevant discipline may also be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree Equivalent experience in lieu of degree must be directly related experience that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a computer related field
Experience with deploying information services in a high security production environment
Experience with enterprise and network services like DNS, NTP, DHCP, databases, firewalls, network and routing equipment, distributed storage systems, etc
Experience with configuring and troubleshooting network equipment
Active DOE Q-level security clearance. The position will likely require higher-level clearance, which may require a polygraph test

Preferred

Ability to translate technical terms to layperson's terms and present them to a diverse set of technical staff/researchers
Experience with scripting languages
Ability to learn new IT system technologies
Strong customer service ethic
Ability to work closely with customers and suppliers to define expectations and mutual responsibilities
In-depth knowledge of Linux
Ability to thrive in a teaming environment
Understanding of Systems Engineering disciplines particularly Requirements Management and Configuration Management
Understanding of Cloud Computing such as Vmware, Open Stack and QEMU/KVM, and Proxmox
Ability to research and propose networking solutions which satisfy requirements
In-depth knowledge of network devices like switches, routers, VPNs and firewall devices
Experience with and the ability to utilize collaboration tools like Wikis, Mattermost, Jira & GitLab
Experience with process improvement activities and full life cycle development processes such as Agile, Lean 6, ISO, CMMi, or ITIL
Project management experience preferably of large, complex, or interdependent projects
Active DOE Q-level with SCI security clearance
