Desktop Support Technician

Akkodis is seeking an IT Help Desk Specialist for a client in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. The role involves providing technical support, troubleshooting user computing issues, and assisting clients with hardware and software problems.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support via phone, email, and support portal. Limited onsite may be required under certain situations
Responds and remediates support requests, alerts within established SLA’s as defined by client agreements
Works with other resources and vendors to deliver effective technical support services
Identifies, documents and troubleshoots user computing issues to resolution and maintains customer satisfaction
Utilizes ConnectWise (PSA) solution along with other service-specific tools and technologies to deliver technical support services and document time and support activities
Updates service request information with accurate documentation of all activities conducted
Be a resource for deployment team, completing projects and other duties as assigned

Required

1-3+ years of experience in IT Help Desk or similar role
Willingness to learn and adaptability
Strong presentation skills in front of clients
Basic windows updates, password resets, helping end user with any issues in a Windows environment
CompTIA A+ certification within 90 days of starting if not already held
Understanding of ticketing systems and ability to learn processes
Ability to pass background check
Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Technology, related field of study, or 2 years+ of equivalent work experience
Troubleshooting Microsoft Windows Operating Systems
Installation of applications and software
Repairing and diagnosing hardware problems with workstations and laptops
Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
Spyware removal and virus removal skills
Networking Concepts (LAN, WAN, VPN, DHCP, DNS)
Active Directory, Office 365 and Exchange Lite Administration
Valid driver's license and proof of insurance
Minimum 1-year experience in call center and/or technical support role

Preferred

Microsoft MCSA, CompTIA N+, Server+, Security+ or similar certifications
3 years of relevant IT work experience
Experience working for an IT Managed Services organization
Experience with HIPAA/HITECH compliance
Experience with Electronic Health Records Systems
