District Webmaster
Volusia County School District is seeking a District Webmaster to manage and support their website. The role involves website design, content creation, and ensuring compliance with web standards while collaborating with various stakeholders.
Primary/Secondary Education
Responsibilities
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Three years of progressively responsible related experience; demonstrated experience with website design, management and support
Familiarity with search engine optimization (SEO) strategies and website analysis tools like Google Analytics
Strong content writing/editing skills
Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS and/or JavaScript
Familiarity with appropriate web standards, such as HTML 5, CSS 3 and WCAG 2.0
Working knowledge of Web Content Management Systems such as Drupal, WordPress, or MS SharePoint
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills for effective interaction with associates at different levels of the organization and the general public
Experience leading web-based initiatives, with the ability to manage competing demands and multiple tasks concurrently
Experience with Apple and Windows operating systems and basic productivity applications such as Microsoft Office, email, web browsers, etc
Experience with methods of uploading and downloading all types of media and some photo and video editing
Experience providing training to groups of various sizes and skill levels
Flexibility and positive attitude with experience working in teams of various sizes with varying degrees of supervision
Ability to produce well-written and detailed documentation
Ability to articulate and present thoughts and creative ideas
Ability to translate highly technical concepts and ideas into non-technical terms
Experience designing and working with both digital and print media
Must be able to work with very little supervision in a highly charged and fast paced environment
Certifications in Apple, Microsoft and/or other relevant domains highly desired
Qualification
