Vice Chair (Volunteer Board Position)
The National Stuttering Association is seeking a qualified volunteer to serve as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors. This leadership role is ideal for someone passionate about nonprofit governance and committed to supporting people who stutter through thoughtful, steady leadership.
Civic & Social Organization
Responsibilities
Serve as a member of the Board’s Executive Committee
Chair Board meetings in the absence of the Board Chair
Lead the Nominating Committee
Facilitate Board orientation and ongoing Board development
Take on special projects as determined by the Board Chair, Executive Director, or Board
Represent the NSA at select community or organizational events
Qualification
Required
Comfort using Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Zoom
Clear, professional written communication skills
Ability to read and understand budgets and financial statements
Proven project management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
A collaborative, team-focused leadership style
A strong understanding of and commitment to the NSA's mission and values
Preferred
Prior Board or nonprofit leadership experience is welcome but not required
