Building and Code Analyst
NEOGOV is seeking a Building & Code Analyst to support the Town of Superior's energy code and building decarbonization policy. This part-time role involves data analysis, research, and grant support related to local building policies and sustainability initiatives.

Responsibilities
Support Superior's capacity to adopt and implement local building decarbonization policies including things like electric-preferred codes, streamlined heat pump permitting, energy benchmarking or other policies
Complete data research projects related to building and energy permitting and policies
Participate in discussions on regional policy goals, roadmaps, and policy package proposals
Lead energy and emissions code updates, adoption and implementation
Provide research and support for developing or updating sustainability plans, strategic plans, comprehensive plans or long-range plans related to building decarbonization efforts
Help analyze existing building-related policies such as the Green Building code, feebate, etc
Lead community engagement activities around building policy and energy and/or emissions code updates
Provide technical assistance for specific projects related to building decarbonization policy development, coordination, piloting, and implementation
Complete permit analysis and collect data to identify existing community decarbonization levels and assess community opportunity for future proposals
Serve as primary lead for grant reporting
Qualification
Required
Candidates should have at least one year of experience in planning, energy or building code, policy work, grant administration, sustainability policy or other related work
Knowledge of sustainable building, building codes, building energy systems, energy efficiency principles, greenhouse gas emissions reduction strategies and other development-related policies and processes
Ability to research, analyze and synthesize complex information and data
Ability to develop and present concise written reports, correspondence and recommendations
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills including public engagement, customer service and conflict resolution
Ability to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions and recommend conclusions
Ability to demonstrate professionalism and proficiency in performing tasks requiring good judgment and superior attention to detail
Ability to interact comfortably with other departments and agencies to build relationships
Preferred
Desired additional qualifications include a degree in Planning, Sustainability, Environmental Management, Urban Design, Environmental Science, Energy Policy, Environmental Policy or any equivalent combination of education and experience to perform job duties
