Responsibilities

Advising on, administering, and performing professional work involving the disciplines of management science and operations research applied to workforce requirements determination
Developing mathematical models and statistical analyses on any component of the Coast Guard organization as required for specific projects or tasks
Leading, facilitating, or participating in meetings, chartered working groups, or other planning groups which meet to discuss workforce requirements issues/concerns
Making recommendations for actions which would solve specific problems while outlining impacts of benefits and cost to the workforce
Recommending or approving recommended approaches to various quantitative problems using most effective methods and techniques

Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be registered or exempt from the Selective Service
A one-year probationary period may be required

This position has a positive Education Requirement
Degree in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus
To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the federal sector
Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications
Submit a copy of your college transcript (unofficial is acceptable) from an accredited institution
You must submit evidence of equivalency as provided by a credentialing evaluation service if you have foreign education
