Cloud Engineer I, Application Modernization, Professional Services
Google is a leading technology company, and they are seeking a Cloud Engineer I for their Application Modernization team in Professional Services. This role involves transforming existing enterprise applications into modern, cloud-native applications and supporting customer adoption of Google Cloud products through architecture guidance and best practices.

Responsibilities
Be a trusted technical advisor to customers and solve complex software development challenges
Deliver modern software to Google’s customers, including creating and executing enterprise application transformation and migration strategies
Recommend approaches and estimated effort for application migration and modernization programs
Create and deliver best practice recommendations, tutorials, blog articles, and sample code
Travel up to 30% for in-region for meetings, technical reviews, and onsite delivery activities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
3 years of experience leading enterprise application portfolios and associated technologies (e.g., VMWare, Openshift, Kubernetes, etc.)
Experience designing cloud enterprise solutions and supporting customer projects to completion
Experience coding in one or more general purpose languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, C or C++)
Preferred
Experience refactoring monolithic applications to microservices, APIs, or serverless models
Experience architecting, developing software, or internet scale production-grade cloud solutions in virtualized environments such as Google Cloud Platform or other public clouds
Experience leading application modernization or application architecture projects
Experience with data structures, algorithms, and software design
Experience with unit or automated testing tools
