Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with the Software Packaging Analyst to gather, review, and clarify application requirements, participating in technical discussions with customers to ensure a complete understanding of automated deployment needs
Design and develop automated software deployment packages using PowerShell scripting, MSIX Packaging Tool, or other appropriate packaging technologies based on application requirements
Build and test deployment packages on designated test endpoints to validate installation success, application functionality, and delivery behavior across supported environments
Prepare completed automation for enterprise-wide deployment through platforms such as HCL BigFix and Microsoft Intune, ensuring alignment with security constraints and operational standards
Partner with software testing teams to confirm packaged applications are delivered correctly and function as expected across all test scenarios
Collaborate with application owners, customer teams, and technology groups to troubleshoot software issues, resolve environmental inconsistencies, and address deployment failures identified during testing or rollout
Perform lead engineer responsibilities on technical projects, including assessing existing environments, contributing to architectural decisions, capacity planning, and implementation strategies
Conduct research on workstation and server products, services, protocols, and standards to support procurement, development, and modernization initiatives
Design and build systems with a focus on stability, interoperability, security, and scalability, validating architecture against enterprise requirements
Evaluate system performance to identify deficiencies, recommend improvements, and implement enhancements that maximize system effectiveness and reliability
Design custom integration solutions and establish configurations for software packages that support business processing requirements
Develop and manage administrative tools and applications for enterprise-level software delivery and remote management, impacting company-wide operations
Lead deployment efforts for infrastructure software, including new builds, master images, upgrades, and patching activities
Establish and follow processes for notifications, alerts, and operational monitoring related to workstation and server environments
Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and training plans for workstation and server maintenance, administration, and disaster recovery
Perform proactive maintenance, analysis, development, documentation, and testing through a combination of onsite and remote work, exercising independent judgment and discretion
Lead technical discussions with stakeholders related to business continuity, infrastructure growth, and future technology direction
Provide advisory-level expertise in diagnosing and resolving workstation and server issues, ensuring problems are addressed before impacting end users
Maintain and review infrastructure software and configuration libraries to support consistent and high-quality remote service delivery
Track growth statistics, maintain software and hardware inventories, and support audits related to licensing, maintenance agreements, and compliance standards
Conduct hardware and software audits to ensure alignment with established policies, standards, and configuration guidelines
Provide mentoring and technical guidance to less experienced staff while maintaining current knowledge through continuous self-study

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or four years of job-related experience, or two years of job-related experience plus an associate's degree in a related field
8 years of applicable workstation, server, and/or application support experience, including both software and hardware troubleshooting
Solid understanding of Windows 11 operating system architecture, application lifecycle management, registry structure, services, and security constraints
Experience with software packaging tools used for automated deployment
Knowledge of enterprise deployment platforms including Intune, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, and HCL BigFix
Strong scripting proficiency in PowerShell, with additional experience using VBScript or Python
Experience collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather, clarify, and document application requirements
Ability to design, test, implement, document, and support complex workstation and server environments
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with consistent documentation practices
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment

Preferred

Hands-on experience using GitHub, including familiarity with Git branching strategies
Experience using Microsoft Intune (Endpoint Manager) to make applications or resources available to end users
Hands-on experience with HCL BigFix, including developing Relevance statements for fixlets, tasks, baselines, and analyses
Background in automated testing or package scanning tools
