Responsibilities
Configure, install, monitor, and maintain IT users’ desktop software and hardware; support mobile workforce
Provide consultation to IT users for all aspects of end-user computing and desktop-based LAN systems software
Provide technical support and guidance through Tier 2 support and work with vendors to resolve Tier 3 issues
Document solutions to problems and develop end-user guidelines
May provide on-site training to users
Evaluate, maintain, modify (e.g., create macros, templates) and document desktop application packages, participate in the testing and evaluation of new desktop packages and implement prototypes
Consult with, and make recommendations, to IT users on selection of hardware and software products to address business requirements
The range of accountabilities minimally covers hardware and software planning, vendor selection, acquisition, Tier 2 problem resolution, set-up, integration, testing and installation
Organize and coordinate the activities associated with installation, deployment and upgrade of software, hardware, and network facilities as it relates to the desktop environment
Desktop applications may include productivity tools, e-mail, and applications that are used by groups without programming customization
Evaluate and provide techniques for increasing user desktop productivity
Responsible for developing and implementing technical service restorations and troubleshooting procedures for identifying, testing, and diagnosing computer system and peripheral equipment faults
Qualification
Required
2-4 years of related experience experience in IT/desktop/deskside support
Bachelor's degree, OR, 4 years of related experience
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good interpersonal skills
